Sociocultural Theory And The Cultural Construction

Sociocultural theory, education is a process of social integration of the individual, which it means that during this process the individuals receiving and accepting the norm of society which is part of the cultural construction, according to Lev Vygotsky. As sociocultural theory is a theory that human learning and cognitive development is a social process possibly by social interaction with culture and society. It has been highlighted in the news article â€Å"China’s WW2 Remembrance: ‘Patriotic Education’ in Action†, written by Alexandre Dor on August 15, 2015. Where it discussed the issue of the nationalist ideology that the government of China which has swept crossed the nation, especially for the last twenty-five years as it became a huge part of the society that made up the Chinese culture. The former Soviet’s psychologist Lev Vygotsky, the founder of cultural-historical psychology which it seeks to examine how sociocultural factors that effect human mental states and behavior. He believes that social interaction, in particular with cooperative dialogues between children and more knowledgeable members of society is necessary for children to acquire the ways of thinking and behaving that make up a culture of the society, which means that the culture values, beliefs, customs and skills of a social group are transmitted from one generation to the text.
